Swinton are reaping the rewards of their strong relationship with Super League clubs St Helens, Warrington and Huddersfield.

Their dual registration players have beefed up the pack and been instrumental in an improvement in form leading to wins against Hunslet and York and a last minute defeat to Championship leaders Halifax.

Carl Forster and Scott Hale joined from Saints early in the season followed by Glenn Riley from Warrington and Adam Walker from Huddersfield.

“The dual reg boys have had an impact and we are thankful that their Super League clubs have allowed them to come here,” said Lions coach Steve McCormack.

“It’s a compliment to our club and our players. They’ve had a big impact. They all fit in really well and have added size and quality to our side.

“The rest of the players have embraced that and it has been a good partnership between their parent clubs and ourselves.

“Hopefully that will continue and ultmately they want to play in Super League – just as some of our players do.

“If we play well, and individually they play well, then everyone is happy.”
