McCormack expecting reaction

Swinton coach Steve McCormack is expecting a reaction from his players following last week’s 86-12 thumping by Featherstone.

The Lions, who cannot qualify for the end of season play-offs, have little more than pride to play for in Sunday’s encounter against Keighley, who themselves are in the hunt for a top six place.

McCormack said: “It will be nice to get back at home, but we have two games left and they are not going to be easy.”

“Teams around us have got a lot to play for, but we are playing for a little bit of pride and players are playing for their contracts next season, so I’m expecting a big reaction.”

The former Widnes, Barrow and Gateshead coach is expected to welcome back Carl Forster and Mike Morrison.

Forster had been recalled by parent club St Helens to cover their injury-hit squad, while Morrison has been missing through injury.
