McCarthy joins Castleford on loan

Warrington back-rower Tyrone McCarthy has joined Castleford on a month’s loan.

McCarthy, 24, has made four appearances for the Wolves this season and has also turned out for Championship Swinton on dual-registration.

He said: “It is a massive opportunity for me to get some Super League game time and to hopefully pick up a bit of form. 

“We’re going into a World Cup at the end of the season and I want to be playing at the highest level. I’m grateful to Cas for giving me this opportunity and I aim to repay them with performances.”

The Ireland international is likely to be in coach Mark Aston’s plans for the World Cup at the end of the season.
