Matt King to face his former club

Matt King will face his former team mates as South Sydney host Warrington at Redfern Oval.

King left the Wolves after the 2011 season, and new Souths coach Michael McGuire has named King in the 19-man squad that will take on Warrington in the Rabbitohs’ first trial game.

George Burgess will come off the bench for the Rabbitohs as another English link in the game. George is the brother of Sam and Luke Burgess, who are unavailable for selection for this game. 

The Wolves are incorporating the game into their pre season training camp, and are training with the South squad ahead of the match. Tony Smith’s side are also taking in sessions with Sydney Swans AFL club, as well as training with the Westpac Life Savers on Sydney beaches. 

Warrington will take on South Sydney on January 28, 6pm local time (7am GMT.)
