Match officials appointed for semi-finals
Following yesterday’s meeting of the Match Officials Appointments Panel, Ben Cummins and Richard Silverwood have been appointed to referee the RLWC2013 semi-finals.
The decision has also been taken to add another level of scrutiny to the refereeing decisions by appointing a second video referee to each semi-final, and also the final.
Stuart Cummings of the RLWC2013 Match Officials Appointments Panel had this to say:
“The second video referee will observe the decision-making process of the video referee and offer additional information where it is deemed necessary.
“The Match Officials Appointments Panel feel that this is an appropriate step at this stage of the tournament.”
The appointments for the RLWC2013 semi-finals are as follows:
