Mason: Tigers believe in play-off dream

Castleford forward Keith Mason believes the 2013 season can end on a very positive note for the club.

Mason, 31, says that the Tigers recent run of form has put them right back in the play-off picture, after a tough start to the season in which the Yorskire side won just one of 11 Super League matches.

He said, “If we’d picked up a few more wins earlier in the season we’d be in a better position, but it’s not impossible to get into the top-eight.

One of Mason’s former clubs, St Helens, are Castleford’s next opponents and he sees it as an important fixture.

“Saints are not playing their best football at the moment, but they are one of those teams who can turn up and beat a team 50-0.

“It depends what mood they are in, but we are not going to be an easy touch against anybody at home and we are looking forward to it.”

St Helens are currently occupying the last play-off spot, but a Castleford victory this weekend would see them close the gap to three points on the 8th placed Saints.
