Leigh Centurions have signed Huddersfield Giants forward Nathan Mason on a season-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old prop will meet his new teammates when they start pre-season training in November.

Mason graduated from the Huddersfield Academy after playing his junior rugby at Waterhead and made his Super League debut back in 2013.

He became a first team regular in the Giants outfit, making 25 appearances and scoring four tries in the 2016 campaign.

And he played a further nine games for Rick Stone’s side in the 2017 season.

Mason has also played 39 times for hometown club Oldham Roughyeds while on dual-registration from Huddersfield over the last four years and has featured for Batley Bulldogs on loan as well.

And Centurions head coach Neil Jukes thinks Mason can bring a lot to his side in 2018.

He said: “Nathan has played within a good club and systems in Huddersfield for a number of years now.

“He has plenty of experience for a young lad. Some of his performances for the Giants have been exceptional and I’m confident that with a full pre-season, the Leigh Centurions fans will see the very best of what Nathan can offer in 2018.

“He is young, ambitious and has genuine size and will really add to the blend of the team.”
