Manly Sea Eagles forward Martin Taupau has signed a new deal that will see him stay at the club until the end of 2022.

The 29-year-old has made 157 NRL appearances for Canterbury Bulldogs, Wests Tigers and the Sea Eagles. He has earned 24 caps for New Zealand and two for Samoa.

Taupau said: “This club means a lot to me, it’s given me a lot of opportunities over the last couple of years.

“It is a very special feeling [at the club].

“We all felt that as a team driving towards the finals [this year] but the way the boys have come back in the pre-season and the fact that we’ve kept the majority of our team-mates, and the fact that we’re developing our junior players coming through the ranks, is something special.

“Our fans have to be very excited for the next couple of years.”
