Barrow Raiders’ Neil Martin has stepped down from his position as chief financial officer.

Martin was responsible for instigating a business plan for the club which would see the Raiders’ finances develop.

Keith Holt and David Sharpe will take over running the club’s finances.

Martin had been in charge of securing the club’s future after Des Johnson departed the Raiders, and has been influential in the club’s rebirth.

He said: “Although a lot of work has been put in, there is still a lot to do. The club is heading in the right direction and we are now in a position where nobody expected us to be at this stage.

“It’s not always possible for everybody on a 12-man board to agree on everything, but there has been no fall-out and it is better that the finances are in the hands of the director of rugby.”
