Marshall retains Kiwi focus

St George-Illawarra half-back Benji Marshall has insisted that he is still targeting a Kiwi Test jersey this year.

Marshall did meet with the Scotland Rugby League earlier this year to discuss eligibility, but injury to Shaun Johnson has opened up a possible space for him on the Kiwis’ end of season tour to England.

“It’s definitely still a goal, but I haven’t really thought about it for a few weeks to be honest with you, it’s been more about trying to get our season back on track with the Dragons.” Marshall told Sportal.

“I haven’t spoken to Stephen Kearney or anyone at the moment.

“I’m just trying to focus on our team and play well there and hopefully go far into the semi-finals because that will obviously help my cause.”
