Halifax coach Richard Marshall has confirmed that his club are looking for a replacement half-back, after Matt Place returned home to Australia last week.

Place left for ‘family reasons’, but Marshall, who saw his team come back from a 13-12 deficit against Dewsbury at the weeked to win 26-13, insists that Fax will not be hurried into making any signings.

“We are looking, but we’ve not identified anyone at the minute,” said Marshall, according to the Halifax Courier.

“We’re not in a rush, because I don’t particularly think our half-backs have hit their straps yet.

“We’re okay for the minute, but with Easter coming up maybe we will need some extra competition there.”

Ben Johnston and Scott Murrell are currently playing in the halves for Fax.
