Marquee signings Trent Merrin and Konrad Hurrell will feature for Leeds for the first time on Sunday when they face Castleford in Kallum Watkins’ testimonial match.

Watkins’ testimonial game takes place at Emerald Headingley on Sunday at 3pm as preparations for the Super League season continue.

Australia international Merrin and Tonga superstar Hurrell both missed the traditional Boxing Day clash against Wakefield Trinity, but they have now been cleared to have their first run out in the blue and amber this weekend.

Both players became the club’s first-ever marquee signings in the off-season and Leeds fans should be keen to see the duo in action, with coach Dave Furner set to name his strongest possible 17-man squad, with the new Super League season less than two weeks away.

The Rhinos and Tigers will compete for The G R Electrical Cup on Sunday.
