Mantellato misses Wigan clash due to brother’s wedding

Josh Mantellato will miss Hull KR’s game against Wigan on Friday after flying back to Australia to be best man at his brother’s wedding.

Mantellato’s absence from Chris Chester’s 19-man squad led to speculation about the Italy international, forcing the club in to making a statement.

It said: “Josh Mantellato was not included in the 19-man squad this week due to his involvement as best man at his brother’s wedding. 

“The club were made aware of this situation before he signed in November 2014. 

“The player flew to Australia after Saturday’s game against Catalans to take part in the ceremony and will be back in England this Sunday and available for selection for the game against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.”

The close season signing from Newcastle Knights has scored 116 points in 12 appearances for Rovers this season, including eight tries.
