Manly Sea Eagles have signed Trent Hodkinson with immediate effect on a contract until the end of the 2019 season.

The 29-year-old was released by Cronulla Sharks yesterday to take up the ‘multi-year’ offer from rivals Manly.

Hodkinson began his career with the Sea Eagles, making his NRL debut in 2010 and going on to play 24 games for the club, before enjoying spells at Canterbury Bulldogs, Newcastle Knights and then Cronulla.

Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett thinks Hodkinson will add a lot to the team.

He said: “Trent’s experience and game management will be of enormous value to us.

“As a person, Trent is also highly respected for the wonderful amount of work he does in the community, so he will bring plenty to the club on and off the field. This is a great signing for Manly.”
