Man of Steel shortlist announced

Former winner Sam Tomkins is on an all-English five-man shortlist for the 2021 Steve Prescott Man of Steel.The Catalans Dragons and England full-back, who won the coveted award in 2012, is vying for the Man of Steel prize with Hull KR half-back Jordan Abdull, Hull full-back Jake Connor, St Helens stand-off Jonny Lomax and Warrington half-back Gareth Widdop.

The shortlist, which is the first to comprise all English players since 2014, is drawn up from the points awarded each round by a panel over the course of the regular season which ended last weekend.

The winner will be announced as part of the Betfred Super League Awards which will be shown on Sky Sports on Monday, October 4.
