Man of Steel 2022: Tui Lolohea closes gap on leader Jai Field

Huddersfield’s Tui Lolohea is now just two points behind leader Jai Field on the Man of Steel leaderboard. 

The 27-year-old full-back picked up the maximum points of three following the club’s 22-14 victory over Catalans in Perpignan.

It takes his total tally to 17 for the season so far, just two behind leader and Wigan full-back Field on 19.

Meanwhile, Lance Todd Trophy winner Chris McQueen received two points following his brace that helped secure the victory in the South of France.

Half-back Jack Cogger was handed his first point of the season.

Warrington 4-40 Leeds

Leeds skipper Kruise Leeming doubled his tally to six following his three-point performance against Warrington. The 26-year-old crossed for a try at Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday.

Featuring at full-back and crossing for a try, Zak Hardaker received two points. Team-mate and winger Ash Handley picked up one, taking his tally to seven.

Castleford 12-32 Wigan

Liam Marshall picked up his first points of the season. The Wigan winger received three following his man of the match performance against the Tigers on Saturday, live on Channel 4. He crossed for a brace at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

22-year-old half-back Harry Smith was rewarded with two points, while back-rower Liam Farrell received one.

Toulouse 14-28 St Helens

Jack Welsby took his tally to 12 for the season after receiving three points in the club’s win over Toulouse. He crossed for a try, while team-mates Morgan Knowles and Konrad Hurrell also received points in two and one respectively.

Hull KR 43-16 Salford

Scoring two tries and kicking all seven goals on the day, as well as slotting a field goal, Hull KR full-back Lachlan Coote was rewarded with three Man of Steel points following his impressive performance. It takes his tally to seven so far in 2022.

Skipper Shaun Kenny-Dowall received two points, and winger Ethan Ryan gets one.

Wakefield 19-18 Hull

Wakefield forward James Batechlor received three points following his side’s golden-point winner over Hull at home on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Manu Ma’u collected two points and Trinity prop David Fifita the one.
