Makinson hails Saints fans

St Helens winger Tommy Makinson says his club have the best supporters in Super League.

Makinson made his return from injury in the loss to Leigh in round two.

The flyer was impressed with the away following Saints had at the Leigh Sports Village. St Helens host Wakefield at the Totally Wicked Stadium this Friday.

“They’re the best fans, they stick by us through thick and thin and we love them turning out,” Makinson said.

“I know for me, especially being out last year, I miss the game I miss the atmosphere just that bit more.

“There was 3000 or more at Warrington that last game [last year], they were with us every step of the way as they were every game last year.

“When I heard that 3000 Saints fans were traveling over to Leigh it was outstanding.

“We want to turn St Helens into a nice little fortress for teams to come.”
