Dear editor,

At least the NRL grand final has given a good reason not to have 2 referees on the pitch, the change of signal from a further set of six to a last play had dire consequences to Canberra , especially as Sydney then went and scored the winning score as a result. It soured, for me, a great performance by the Raiders.

Another point resulting from the NRL final is the ball striking a Sydney trainer, apart from believing that should have been a Canberra penalty at the point where the ball struck the trainer, it highlighted one of my pet hates in Rugby League, and that is the number of water carriers, trainers etc who linger in back play.

These people should not be on the pitch (exception are medics) and should only go on at the invitation of the referee. We are getting to the point where we will soon be putting a bib on the Coach to save him having to radio instructions down from the stands!
