Hi James,

Please could you raise a point of issue during lockdown before present restrictions cease.

Mr Ganson promised to crackdown on playing the ball with the foot rule this season.

Most NRL rugby this season the play the ball has been done properly.

George Williams at Canberra now plays the ball correctly, much more than he did at Wigan!

Editor’s comment: Certainly one of the most interesting things about the restart will be seeing the six again rule in Super League, which will no doubt see some number nines in the league running riot. If incorrect play the balls are not picked upon as the reader suggests, it could be carnage!

  1. Penalise, penalise and penalise until the message gets through. The fact that “professional” players can’t even do the basics correctly makes you wonder why they get to play the game at the highest level.

  2. Mr Ganson said that the PTB rule would be adhered to correctly i.e. players foot to touch the ball backwards, all club coaches had been informed of this before the lockdown came in but it never happened, nothing changed! And although it really should I just can’t see it changing. The only way to implement it is to give penalty after penalty, it won’t be pretty at first but surely it shouldn’t take long for the coaches and players to sort it. More to the point is will Mr Ganson earn do his job has he should do and make sure the referees and coaches are made to play by the correct PTB rules. This is even more important than ever now with the new rules speeding the game up even more, come on Mr Ganson get it sorted!
