The former Melbourne Storm threequarter, a Tongan international, is settling in well in East Yorkshire, and is determined to help make his new club successful.
“When I first signed I saw the opportunity to spread my wings,” Fonua told the Hull Daily Mail.
“My only club has been Melbourne Storm and coming to Hull will give me a chance to mature as a person and as a player.
“I saw and heard of Hull’s plans and what they are trying to do.
“It’s exciting times with the club trying to build foundations with a good core and some quality signings and I wanted to be a part of it.
“Sometimes you’ve got to back yourself and coming to this club is a great challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started.”
