Widnes have confirmed that MacGraff Leuluai has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 28-year-old has been at the Vikings since 2011 and has become a regular in his seven years at the club. He won Players’ Player of the Year this season.

Leuluai has played over 150 games for the club and has appeared for Leigh Centurions, Workington Town, Whitehaven and North Wales Crusaders on loan.

On his contract extension, the utility forward said: “I’m really happy to have signed a new deal with the club.

“I came here when we were in the Championship and helped to transition us into a Super League club, so I am hoping to achieve that once again. To still be here and be part of the club after all this time makes me really proud.

“Widnes is a home away from home for me now. The fans and all the boys here make you feel welcome, they all get around you when you need it, so this is home.

“I want to be a consistent player for the team next season and our goal is to return to Super League as soon as possible, so I’m hoping I can contribute to us achieving that target.”

Widnes chief executive James Rule added: “MacGraff has shown real tenacity and commitment to return from his back injury and put his body on the line week in, week out for our club.

“As we seek to build an aggressive and abrasive pack for the 2019 campaign, MacGraff’s work rate and big hits in defence will form a key part of that building process.”
