Lyon in injury race

Jamie Lyon faces a race against time to be fit for Friday’s elimination final with North Queensland.

Lyon limped off early in the Sea Eagles’ 16-10 defeat to Canterbury on Friday but scans have since shown his calf injury is not as severe as first feared.

Medical staff will give Lyon until the last minute to prove his fitness for the match at Allianz Stadium.

Meanwhile skipper Jason King is free to play following his high shot on Aiden Tolman which saw him charged with a grade one careless high tackle by the NRL match review committee.

The news is less encouraging for centre Steve Matai however, who is facing a two match ban after being slapped with a grade two charge for a challenge on Sam Perrett.
