Lynch blow for Bulls

Bradford prop Andy Lynch will miss the next four rounds of Super League following surgery on his knee.

Lynch, 30, will have surgery on Tuesday to repair the damaged cartilage that has troubled him for the past few weeks.

Coach Steve McNamara said: “It’s a measure of Andy’s stature as a player and as Captain that he has played through the pain barrier in recent weeks. He has never given less than 100% in all the games he has played but the time has now come for him to have the operation with a view to being fully fit for the business end of the season.”

Lynch is in his sixth season at the club and was handed the captain’s armband following Paul Deacon‘s departure to Wigan in the close season.

Meanwhile, back-rower James Donaldson will find out later today the full extent of the damage to the knee he injured against Warrington in the Challenge Cup last week.
