Luke Thompson: We’re not worried

St Helens prop forward Luke Thompson explains that they aren’t worried about their recent dip in form and believes they will get back to it this week against Catalans Dragons.

Thompson, 23, has previewed Saints’ clash against Challenge Cup champions, Catalans and explains they want to put things right:

“Hopefully we can make it right and get a win over them in France”

“They did really well in the challenge cup they’ve been a good team, so we will try and get the win against them this week.”

“It’s always really tough going over there, we just prepare like we do every week and try and correct the wrongs from last week.”

“I remember that it was a really tough game [the previous fixture in Perpignan] and we need to go there with the same approach try and get the win again.”

“They’ve got a good pack I think we saw that at Bolton, they like coming up the middle so we will have to be ready for that and be on our game and match up to them.”

Thompson has recently returned from a suspension.

“it felt like I’d not played for ages, it was 3 weeks with the Challenge Cup as well so it was great to get out there and gutted we didn’t get the win.”

“But it’s always great walking out at the Totally Wicked Stadium I love it.”

Many are seemingly writing off the Saints due to their recent form, but Thompson wants to reassure Saints fans:

“were still 6 points clear so we’ve been the most consistent team all season , we’re not worried about anything – we’ve had a loss but we will get back to it this week.”

Catalans Dragons v St Helens kicks-off at 17:30 at the Stade Gilbert Brutus and is live on Sky Sports Arena.
