Luke Thompson arrives for training with new club Canterbury

Luke Thompson has arrived for training at Canterbury after completing his two weeks in quarantine in Australia.

The 25-year-old has linked up with the Bulldogs with immediate effect after they paid an undisclosed fee for him to St Helens.

Thompson said: “I’m buzzing to be here. It’s been a long two weeks in quarantine so I’m through that now and it’s just great to be here, I’m made up.

“I’ve been in quarantine for two weeks so I’ve hardly walked, never mind run so I’ve just got to build myself up, get back into it and take it from there.

“It was a really big decision to move to the other side of the world and carry on my career over here but I felt like it was the best decision for my career.

“I spoke to people like Jammer (James Graham) and he spoke really highly of the club and everyone here and I’ve been really welcomed since I’ve come here and everyone was great so I feel like I’ve made a good choice in coming to the Bulldogs.

“He couldn’t really speak highly enough of the club so that’s one of the reasons why I chose the Bulldogs.”
