Lowes refusing to underestimate Hunslet

Bradford Bulls coach James Lowes knows that Hunslet will pose his team some testing challenges this weekend.

The Hawks are set to be boosted by the presence of Brett Delaney on dual registration from Leeds Rhinos.

Dealney’s fellow Rhinos Jimmy Keinhorst, Josh Walters and Robbie Mulhern played for Hunslet last week, and could feature again for the south Leeds outfit.

“I know Brett Delaney from my time at Leeds and he’s a fantastic player as well as a good bloke,” Lowes told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

“He will be a challenge for us and Jimmy Keinhorst is another player who I rate very highly.

“I coached George Flanagan for a year in the Bradford scholarship and he’s a good player who has done well since leaving Odsal.

“You have to find a way of keeping in the game and I know he was disappointed to leave Bradford – but not everyone can stay at one club.

“The good thing with George was that he kept going and kept believing in himself. He’s doing a good job at Hunslet.

“They played well last weekend and they have a good balance with the Rhinos players there and some young blokes who just want to play rugby. They’re a challenge for any team.”
