Lowes hails Bradford’s half-backs

Bradford Bulls coach James Lowes was very pleased with the way his team’s half-backs combined in their emphatic win over Hunslet at the weekend.

The game ended ina 68-6 win for the Bulls, which was satisfying for Lowes, especially as he to re-shuffle his back line.

“Our attack was pretty good,” added Lowes.

“Jake (Mullaney) played off the back of some quality go forward, which helped massively.

“He was not down to play. He was on the bench and I was going to feed him back in but Adrian (Purtell) pulled out at the last minute and he stepped up.

“He is a good player and he slotted into that half-back role well. He can play in the halves or at full-back but I think wherever he plays, his attacking role is similar.

“You have got to give Danny (Addy) some credit today, I thought he controlled the second half. The mentality behind what he was trying to do was bang on.

“He was a big factor in how our game went and Jake complimented him very well with his running game.”
