Long out for three months

Hull scrum-half Sean Long will miss much of the rest of the season after it was confirmed he requires surgery on his shoulder.

Long, 34, was forced off the field during Sunday’s derby defeat to Hull KR with a dislocation, and he will now face at least 12 weeks in rehabilitation.

The former Great Britain international will go under the knife early next week, but faces a race against time to be fit for the end of the season, unless the Airlie Birds can reach the Super League play-offs.
