London get their reward – Powell

London head coach Rob Powell says his side deserved their win over Castleford on Saturday, as they finally got off the mark in Super League.

The Broncos had lost five out of five going in to this one, and taking in to account Widnes’ shock result at Wigan the following day, the win kept them off the bottom of the table.

David Howell scored twice as London ran in eight tries to shock a Castleford side, who lost former Harlequins half-back Danny Orr to an arm injury early on.

Powell told the club’s official website: “We know we have been playing better than to have lost all those games, especially the home games.

“We’ve talked about this. We got our rewards and played well. We’ll get confidence out of this especially our defence in the first 20 minutes of the second half and offensively we know we are a team that’s challenging now and opposition teams will look at us differently.”

London’s next Super League outing is a trip to Wigan, no doubt licking their wounds from their 37-36 loss at the Stobart Stadium on Sunday.
