London confirm retainees as Griffin signs

London have confirmed that they have retained 12 players and announced their first official signing in former Hull KR back-rower George Griffin.

The Broncos, who will play their home games at The Hive Stadium next season, have several new signings lined up and are expected to make announcements in the coming weeks.

Last week, Melbourne Storm confirmed that winger Denny Solomona was on his way to the capital, while released North Queensland hooker Scott Moore has also been heavily linked with a move.

Instead, the first new signing of the off-season is Griffin, 21, who hails from Oxford, and has made 20 first team appearances from Hull KR.

Coach Tony Rea told the club’s official website: “There are some adjustments, but these can make you stronger and tougher. It’s very doable – not normal, but very doable.

“As far as recruitment, we’re the strongest players in the market at this unusually late time. The players out there are hungry.”

The 12 retainees include England Knights international Kieran Dixon, who will miss the early parts of the season with the injury he picked up on international duty back in October.

The others are largely home-grown products with Super League experience, including Mike Bishay, Mason Caton-Brown, Erjon Dollapi, Olsi Krasniqi, Will Lovell, Mike McMeeken and James Woodburn-Hall.

Former Bradford and Hull KR back-rower Matt Cook is another on the list, as are youngsters Saeed Agboke, Iliess Macani and Joel Wicks.
