London Broncos have announced that Brisbane Road, the home of Leyton Orient FC, will host the first of their “on the road” fixtures on May 6th 2012.

Gus Mackay, London Broncos CEO commented: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to play a Super League fixture at Brisbane Road. This fixture meets our objectives of taking the game to new audiences and forms part of our strategic plan of developing the game in East London.

“We are looking forward to working with Leyton Orient to deliver a game that engages the local community and showcases our sport to a new market.”

Matthew Porter, Chief Executive, Leyton Orient FC added: “Leyton Orient are delighted to be working with London Broncos RL on this exciting new venture.

“We are sure it will appeal to Orient’s fans and residents across east London to have the rare opportunity to watch another professional sport at Brisbane Road and we look forward to this being the start of a long and successful relationship.”

London Broncos will play two matches On the Road during the 2012 season for two reasons. The first is to take the game to new audiences and create a buzz about rugby league and London Broncos in London and the South East.

The second reason is in order to be able to carry out essential maintenance work on the field at The Stoop in order to ensure a decent playing surface for the latter end of our season.

Ticket details for the fixture at Brisbane Road will be announced in due course.
