Skolars coach James Massara is hopeful Gareth Honor will be fit for Sunday’s Co-operative Championship One fixture with Doncaster.

Honor suffered a thumb injury during the Northern Rail 9s but Massara thinks he “will probably play”.

Jason Cook also has a good chance of featuring, but Neil Thorman is still struggling with a rib problem.

Massara said: “Over the last few weeks our changes have come in attitude more than anything.

“There’s a really good work ethic, and people are buying into things fully. It’s been building for a while – now we need to keep practising those things.”

On Doncaster, Massara added: “They’ve got a few new additions and we know they’ve been going pretty well.

“We’ll treat them with the utmost respect, as we do everybody. They’ve just got Ben Jones on loan, so we know a lot about him, and they’ve got some other guys like Chris Spurr who we’ve faced earlier in the year.”

Dons’ Jamie Bovill is struggling to overcome a neck injury, but Shaun Leaf is expected to play for Tony Miller’s side.

Aaron Henry and Scott Wilson are both ruled out after suffering injuries during the Northern Rail 9s.
