Castleford Lock Lane skipper Chris Siddons is determined for his team to make their mark on Challenge Cup history in 2016.

Lock Lane are the only community club to have progressed to the fifth round of this year’s Cup competition, and Siddons is hoping for more glory, after his team beat Featherstone Lions 30-16 at the weekend.

“We’re aiming to put ourselves in the history books,” he said.

“Any Yorkshire team at home would be great but, whoever we draw, we’ll always back ourselves to show up well.

“It will just be a one off game – anything can happen in the cup.”

A crowd of 1,738 watched the game at the Big Fella’s Stadium. and Siddons enjoyed the atmosphere and the occasion.

“I expected a big crowd,” Siddons added.

“The game has been the talk of the town for the last few weeks and it was a great occasion to be involved in.

“It was a brilliant crowd to play in front of. There’s always a bit of stick flying around and their fans outnumbered ours in the stands, but thankfully we silenced them with how we played.”
