Wigan prop Jeff Lima will return to the NRL next season after signing a two year deal with South Sydney.

The Former Wests Tigers and Melbourne Storm player will renew links with former Warriors boss and current Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire.

Lima, 29, has enjoyed a successful stint in Super League, scoring two tries and picking up the Lance Todd trophy during Wigan’s Challenge Cup triumph over Leeds last year.

“Jeff has been a very consistent performer right throughout his career and will bring a wealth of experience to our club next season,” said Maguire.

“He has a great work ethic, is professional in the way he conducts himself around training and in his preparation to play, and has been a high level performer week-in and week-out since I’ve been working with him.

“His experience will help the youth in our squad, he’s a big addition to our team and will help to further strengthen our forward pack.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming him to our club for next season and beyond.”

Auckland-born Lima, who has played six tests for New Zealand, will fill the gap left by departing prop Dave Taylor, who leaves for Gold Coast at the end of the year.
