Leeds youngsters Jordan Lilley and Jordan Baldwinson have been called into injury-hit Featherstone’s squad for their match against Halfiax this weekend.

Rovers battled through a number of injury setbacks on their way to an agonising 20-12 defeat at London Broncos, relinquishing a 12-4 half-time lead to suffer their second defeat of the season.

Featherstone coach Jon Sharp admits he has an injury crisis on his hands, with Leeds Rhinos players Lilley and Baldwinson part of his squad.

“We are really struggling at the moment with injuries. It’s probably the worst situation injury-wise I’ve ever experienced as a coach,” Sharp said.

“The injuries all seem to be to our pivots and key men, so we’ll just have to do our best. Six of the injuries are long-term so we need to really dig deep for eachother.

“We were struggling to get a squad together, but we’ve been able to call up a couple of Rhinos players and it will be good to be back at the Big Fella’s Stadium where we want to keep out good form going.”

Halifax responded to losing four of their first six games of the season with victory over Oldham on Good Friday, before a stunning 14-10 win over Bradford on Monday helped them climb to sixth in the table.

“I’m hoping the Bradford result will give us all a bit of a lift,” Halifax coach Richard Marshall said.

“It will give us confidence which we haven’t had really this year.

“We know we have good players. We have been on the wrong end of results, but we’ve competed every week.

“We need to regroup for Featherstone, then hopefully we can start playing to our potential.”
