Featherstone captain Liam Finn has been granted a testimonial by the RFL for excellent services to the game.

Finn, 29, broke the world record for most consecutive successful goal attempts last year, and hasn’t missed a game since March 2010, a total of 105 consecutive appearances for Rovers.

The Ireland international has previously played for Halifax, Wakefield and Dewsbury.

He said: “I feel very privileged to receive a Testimonial from the RFL and humbled to have been able to play the game I love at a good level. I see this as a chance to celebrate that with all the people who have supported me over the years and hopefully be able to thank as many people as I can in that time.”

The six-month testimonial will start with a Dinner at Featherstone on Friday August 16, with guest speaker Sean Long.

Rovers coach Ryan Sheridan said: “What a fantastic Player Finny is.  I’ve coached him for a number of years now and it’s been an absolute pleasure. I can’t think of anybody more deserving of a Testimonial than Finny.”
