Lewis not holding back for Panthers

Penrith skipper Luke Lewis says the Panthers have a squad capable of making waves this season.

Lewis, was named captain earlier this year after ten years with the Panthers, wants the club to mark a new era with victory over Canterbury on Saturday.

And the 28-year-old Australia and New South Wales representative can’t wait to lead his team out against the Bulldogs.

“All the hard work has been done, and we’re looking forward to Saturday night but it’s going to be a tough game for us,” said Lewis.

“As a footy player and everyone in the league is the same, we’re pretty competitive. So we’re definitely not going to be holding back this year and I believe the group of guys we’ve got here can do the job. We’ve got a side that can trouble sides this year.

“We’re not looking too far ahead, we’re just worrying about Saturday night which is a cliche, but that’s the way we’re taking it.

“We’re here to do our job and do something we love.”
