L’Estrange extends Bulls contract

Bradford hooker Heath L’Estrange has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The 26-year-old joined the Bulls at the start of the 2010 season from Manly Sea Eagles and has made 40 Super League appearances.

Bulls coach Mick Potter is pleased that the Australian rake has opted to extend his stay at Odsal.

“It’s pleasing to have Heath on board for the next three years,” said the former St Helens boss.

“He’s still only 26 so he’s got a lot of rugby league left in him yet. He adds some really good things to the team. He gets us over the advantage line, defends well, is strong enthusiastic and talks well. All the things you’d want from someone in that position.”

L’Estrange has been one of the Bulls most impressive performers since arriving in England and had been linked with a move to rivals Leeds Rhinos. But the player said he did not want to play for another Super League club.

“I’m very relieved that it’s done now. We’ve wanted to get this done since the start of the year – both parties, myself and Bradford and now we’ve come to the agreement I’m so happy to be here for the next three years,” he said.

“Bradford is the only club I want to play for and everything has worked out really well.”
