Leigh to be without Blake Wallace this week

Leigh half-back or full-back Blake Wallace has been ruled out of Friday’s game with Castleford.

The 28-year-old left the field with a head knock in Leigh’s 36-18 defeat to Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup on Sunday afternoon.

As a result, Wallace won’t be available for Friday’s trip to Castleford due to concussion protocol, coach John Duffy confirmed in his post-match press conference.

Hooker Nathan Peats and prop Ben Flower made their debuts for the Centurions on Sunday, and Duffy praised their performances.

He said: “I thought Peats was very good, his energy was very good.

“Ben Flower just needs game-time. He’s had a long time out with his operation.”
