Leigh reward Goulden with new deal

Leigh back-rower Tommy Goulden has agreed a new deal to keep him at the Sports Village for another year.

Goulden, a former Leigh Miners Rangers player, who was recently named as The Centurions’ player of the year, has been in impressive form for the Centurions, scoring 8 tries in 21 appearances for the club.

Goulden has previously plied his trade with Rochdale and Oldham, having turned professional after a sparkling amateur career that included county and national honours, and captaincy of his country in the Victory Cup of 2004 and the ill-fated Australian tour later that season.

Centurions Coach Ian Millward commented: “Tommy is a local player who has been an integral part of the team’s progress on the field this season.”

“It’s great that Leigh Centurions can provide a platform for players to stay local, and improve their game, and their club’s progress.”
