Leigh have outlined their Super League ambitions by signing Wigan prop Ben Flower for the 2021 season.

The 33-year-old has made more than 200 appearances in Super League for Crusaders and Wigan. He has also earned 16 caps for his native Wales.

Flower said: “When I toured the stadium and facilities at Leigh I couldn’t believe it – the set up is absolutely first class.

“I’m excited to be joining Leigh Centurions and helping the club achieve their ambitions. Obviously the club is looking to get into Super League and they’ve built a very exciting and capable squad.”

Leigh coach John Duffy said: “Ben is a player who has been there and done it all. He comes from a top team and we will be looking to him to lead from the front.

“We are building a formidable squad and I can’t wait to start working with them. In the meetings I’ve had with Ben, it’s clear to me that he’s a leader and someone the other players can look up to and also learn from.

“He’s a real tough competitor, a no-nonsense player and an excellent addition to what is already a very strong squad full of Super League, NRL and international experience.”
