Leigh front-rower Jamie Acton will serve a five-match suspension.

The 26-year-old pleaded not guilty to a Grade D charge of strikes with his arm/shoulder in Leigh’s loss to Featherstone Rovers in the Championship Shield final, which were deemed intentional.

Acton was found guilty and will now be banned for five games with a £250 fine.

His case was heard by the independent operational rules tribunal, consisting of Peter Charlesworth, Andy Raleigh and Jon Hamer.

Elsewhere, Workington Town forward Fuifui Moimoi was charged with a Grade C reckless high tackle and his case will be heard on Thursday evening.
