Leigh fans to wear Beaumont masks at Bradford, claims local report

Leigh fans are aiming to show their support to the club’s head of rugby, Derek Beaumont, in an unusual way when the team travels to face Bradford this week at Odsal.

Beaumont has been involved in a war of words with the Bulls over incidents this season, and was at one stage fined £2000 for behaviour at the Leigh v Bradford game earlier this season.

The Yorkshire club received a formal warning as to their future behaviour, too, after members of the club were deemed to have acted in a manner which was considered  “prejudicial to the interests of the game” at the same match.

The Bulls also prevented Beaumont from gaining entry to their game against Featherstone Rovers recently.

In order to demonstrate their commitment to Beaumont by wearing masks with the head of rugby’s face on them, according to a report from local paper the Leigh Reporter.

Leigh need only to win one of their three remaining Championship games to clinch top spot in the Championship.
