Leigh have announced the signings of Blake Wallace and Jamie Ellis for the 2021 Championship season.

Wallace, 28, has been with Toronto since 2017, scoring 48 tries in 57 games and winning promotion from League 1 to Super League with the club.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to getting over there and getting stuck in. I want to be playing consistent footy and it’s a challenge I can’t wait to take on.

“2020 hasn’t been the ideal season for myself and so many others but I’m a pretty positive person. Leigh and Toronto have had plenty of rivalry in the past and the Leigh Sports Village is a great venue where I’m looking forward to playing at regularly. It will be nice to have the Leigh fans behind me for a change.

“I’ve been told lots of good things about the club and they look to be building a strong squad for next season which I can’t wait to be a part of.”

Ellis, 30, returns for his second stint with the Centurions where he scored two tries in the Northern Rail Cup Final win over Halifax in Blackpool.

He said: “I have been mates with John (Duffy) since we played together. When he started coaching I texted him every time he moved to a new club asking when he was going to sign me and I’ve always wanted the chance to play for him. I’m excited to sign for Leigh because we are going to have a really strong squad next season with some exciting new arrivals adding to an established squad. I think Leigh would have gone close to promotion this year had the season not been halted.”
