Leigh complain about UK Doping Agency

Leigh Centurions have issued a complaint against the UK Doping Agency (UKAD), after a drugs tester visited the home of Sam Barlow on Saturday evening.

The Daily Mirror reports that the player called the police, as he felt that the tester was acting “suspiciously” outside his home.

“As a club we have raised a formal complaint against one of the testers at UKAD following an incident with one of our players Sam Barlow last weekend,” a Leigh statement reads.

“Sam telephoned the police himself after the tester was acting suspiciously outside his house.

“No further action was taken by the police on their arrival at the scene, but we made contact with the RFL over the matter that evening and then registered a complaint with UKAD through our solicitors on Monday.”

The UKAD are offering no further comment at this stage.

“We’re aware of an incident and there is an investigation on-going,” said a spokesman.

“Until that has taken place we will not comment further.”
