Leeds winger Ash Handley will be sidelined for six weeks after suffering a knee injury.

Scans have revealed that the 25-year-old has suffered a medial collateral ligament injury which will rule him out for six weeks.

Leeds coach Richard Agar said: “Injuries are part and parcel of the game.

“It looked a very innocuous tackle with the way he collapsed under his leg, so it disappointing to lose him in a trial game.

“He has been absolutely flying in pre-season, he’s highly motivated for the World Cup at the end of the year.

“It is a big blow to us but its six weeks. He is in very good shape is Ash so fingers crossed, we can hopefully hit all our targets on our rehab and get him back early.”
