Leeds Rhinos 54-8 Catalans Dragons

Leeds Rhinos proved far too hot to handle for Catalans Dragons as they backed up last week's win over St Helens with another impressive showing.

Brent Webb was the star of the show, grabbing a hat trick of tries, with Kevin Sinfield also racking up a total of 30 points in the 54 points to 8 thrashing.

As Catalans always seem to do, they took a shock lead with an early try through Olivier Charles, who grabbed his second try in as many starts for the Dragons.

And in fairness to the visitors, they did well to keep Leeds quiet in the first half, with a brace from Webb and a late try from Clinton Toopi giving the Rhinos an 18-4 half time advantage.

But two quick tries after the break from Sinfield and Gareth Ellis knocked the wind out of Catalans, and although they hit back through Adam Mogg's consolation, they were never in the game.

As Catalans tiredness shone through, the home side took advantage in front of a big Headingley crowd with Webb completing his hat trick, before Scott Donald, Rob Burrow and Sinfield with his second completed the rout.

Sinfield also landed 9 goals in the win, which takes Leeds to the top of the table – albeit with Bradford still to play this weekend.
