Leeds centre Harry Newman will not return to the field for the second half against Castleford at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

He has been replaced by youngster Luis Roberts in the centres.

It was a pre-planned move by head coach Rohan Smith, with Newman only returning to action last week against Wakefield from his hamstring injury.

Newman, 23, was named for his first start of the season against the Tigers. He featured from the bench last week in the 26-0 victory at Belle Vue.

Meanwhile, Castleford’s Mahe Fonua has failed his head injury assessment and will not return to the field.

Leeds currently lead 8-6 at the break. Richie Myler scoring his first try of the season, while Papua New Guinea star Rhyse Martin has converted two goals.

Meanwhile, Castleford’s Bureta Faraimo opened the scoring at home.
