Leeds grind out victory over Leigh

Leeds bounced back from last week’s disappointing defeat at Widnes by grinding out a 22-14 victory over Leigh at Headingley on Friday.

Adam Cuthbertson and Tom Briscoe bagged first half tries for the hosts, but Matty Dawson’s brace kept the Centurions within four points at the break.

Cuthbertson added another try which was converted by Liam Sutcliffe (above). He added a further penalty, before a late Leigh consolation for Cory Paterson.

The result leaves Leeds third in the table while Leigh remain 11th, just a point in front of Widnes who play on Sunday.
