Leeds 6-30 Wakefield: Max Jowitt hat-trick helps Trinity beat Rhinos

A hat-trick from Max Jowitt helped Wakefield secure their third win in a row as they beat Leeds 30-6 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Jowitt scored two within the first 21 minutes to put Chris Chester’s side in a 10-0 lead.

David Fifita extended Wakefield’s advantage on the half hour mark before Jowitt completed a first half hat-trick just before the half-time hooter sounded. Trinity were 20-0 to the good at the break.

Leeds pulled one back on the hour mark through Ash Handley but the Rhinos were dealt a blow in the 71st minute as Alex Mellor was sin-binned for a professional foul.

Wakefield wrapped up a remarkable display with two late tries from winger Innes Senior as they ran-out 30-6 winners.
